Local firms and workers invited to ‘Meet the Buyer’
The Lochluichart Wind Farm construction project is set to generate work worth approx £3.5m for the local economy.
Now, local firms and tradespeople are being invited to find out how they can become suppliers of materials and services for the Wind Farm.
A Meet the Buyer event is being organised by Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, the main contractor appointed to supply the infrastructure, or balance of plant services, for the project.
The scheme is also expected to create jobs for local people who are also invited to attend the event to learn more.
Eneco is committed to providing opportunities for local contractors and suppliers and is keen that the majority of the balance of plant contract is spent on local suppliers.
The Meet the Buyer event will provide the opportunity for local businesses and people to register their interest and understand how they can participate in this scheme.
It will take place at the Aultguish Inn, near Garve, Ross-shire on Wednesday, 27th July between 2-8pm.
Opportunities may be available through the following elements of the contract:
- Construction of a large substation building, either as a whole package or let through individual trade packages
- Blasting and crushing contractors to produce the aggregates for the concreting and site road works
- Hiring of local plant to assist in the construction of access tracks and hardstandings
- Hiring of local equipment including accommodation units, pumps and generators
- Provision of materials supplied by builders’ merchants, fuel oil distributors and drainage goods suppliers
- Utilising local accommodation and caterers for the duration of the two year contract
